COLLECTION
The interactions between glass and light touch our lives on a daily basis; light reflects, refracts, disperses, and transmits. This collection is a simple study of holding onto light in glass through the exploration of texture and subtle patterning on the vessel surface. After each bubble is blown it is cut and slowly textured by hand, softening the glass enough to feel almost like a whisper.
FLORA DÉCOR COLLECTION
Creating objects to exist in conversation with nature fuels my creative practice and my desire to make works in glass. I designed this series, Flora Décor, to explore limitless possibilities of practicing floral arranging while pursuing my interests in the glassblowing process. I strive to make pieces that will be suitable companions to a budding branch, clipping of one’s favorite foliage, or better yet a flower. To create a harmonious relationship between flora and material I consider the visual balance of color, form, and proportion.
RIPPLE SERIES
The Ripple Cup draws its inspiration from the fluid nature of glass as a medium and the process used in its creation. The organic form of its irregular shaped opening conjures images of landscapes and bodies of water. I designed this drinking glass to comfortably hold a standard serving of wine, but don’t be discouraged from using it for other beverages. I reach for this glass when enjoying whiskey and appreciate the extra room for a large ice cube, if necessary.
RIVER ROCK
Inspired by stone forms that have been smoothed and shaped over time by running water, the thick and solid glass is worked by hand into its final form. Whether used to secure papers on your desk or admiring the refractive properties of this decorative object as light interacts with it, this object aims to remind us of our connection to nature.
